National Gaming Day

Celebrate National Gaming Day at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library on Saturday, Nov. 13 by playing card, board, and video games. Games will be available all day. There will even be a national Rock Band Tournament from 2:30 to 4:30, where people across the country will be competing to get the highest score. All are welcome, but please note that the Wii will be available for those in 3rd grade and above. For more information contact the library at 693-6614.

National Gaming Day

National Gaming Day is this Sat. from 10 am until 4:30 pm. For those who are at least in third grade, keep in mind that their will be a Rock Band Tournament from 2:30 to 4:30. People across the country will compete to score the highest. National winners will not be determined until Monday Nov. 15. However, local winners will be named on Sat. with prizes for the top two highest individual scorers.

Last weekend I heard Laurie Halse Anderson speak about her new book Forge, (Sequal to Chains) as well as hearing Jon Scieszka, Mac Barnett, and David Yoo speak about their new book Guys Read: Funny Business. (This is a compilation of humorous short stories by some of today's most popular childrens and young adult authors.) I have never laughed so hard as I did when listening to Jon Scieszka, Mac Barnett, and David Yoo. You can see the videos here:
